I’m an experienced corporate communications professional who helps people in business communicate with confidence.

I’ve built a successful career on influencing audiences in effective ways that add tangible value to existing brands and new commercial opportunities.

I’ve worked for iconic Queensland health and education services, in the public and private sectors, as well as with numerous start-ups, small businesses, and not-for-profits.

I believe confidence is the ‘secret’ to being noticed – seen, appreciated and trusted. Confidence comes from being prepared and believing in your own capability to succeed.

I love empowering people to develop and refine their professional presence, in person, on paper, and online.

So, in 2013 I established Presence Communications – a training and services consultancy which helps individuals and organisations communicate effectively and be noticed positively for their efforts, achievements, and innovative thinking.

Proudly Ipswich-based, I work with individuals and teams who aspire to be the best they can be, wherever they are in Australia.

Clients enjoy working with me because I’m quick to become familiar with their needs and I provide sound advice. I’m proud of my track record of advising boards and senior executives on communication strategy.

Sometimes that means bringing in the expertise of others, and I partner with various trainers and organisations to cover skill development in leadership, innovation, intercultural intelligence, sales, and customer service.

I’ve been a faculty member at QUT and Griffith universities, guiding undergraduate students in their development of highly sought-after graduate attributes. I’ve also run ‘boot camps’ and ideas competitions for postgraduate students and postdoctoral academics at The University of Queensland and five other Australian universities, to help them engage effectively with internal and external audiences.

I’m also active within the Ipswich and Queensland innovation ecosystems, sharing my communication, training, and facilitation expertise as an Impact Innovation Group Senior Associate and at the Ipswich Fire Station 101 business innovation hub. I served on the board of the Ipswich Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2016 to 2022 and I continue to connect with many business and community people as a general member.

When I’m not equipping new graduates and seasoned staff with essential workplace communication skills, I enjoy spending time with my family, supporting my husband’s karate tournaments, solving cryptic crosswords, walking my Labrador, and reading novels by contemporary Australian authors.
